Fargo Senior Photographer Kris Kandel | Alyssa Downtown Fall Session

A few weeks ago Alyssa met me downtown for her senior photos! She loves the autumn colors, golds, reds and deep greens. We had a lot of fun wandering around finding cools spots and lots of beautiful corners!

I actually met Alyssa years ago at a wedding when she was a Jr bridesmaid! How fun is that?!

And then randomly I ran into her at a wedding reception three days after her senior portrait session! So funny to see each other twice in one week at two different photo shoots.

Thanks for a fun senior photo session Alyssa, I hope you love your pictures!!

Fargo Pet Photographer Kris Kandel | Dogs & Cat’s Natural Backyard Portraits

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you know I’m a crazy dog lady! I love my Bokeh! We got to a dog club once a week. First we went through obedience, then the Canine Good Citizen program, and now we are working our way through the performance skills (tricks)! Well in many of our classes I would chat with Nikki while her dog Zucci (the all black one below) became one of Bokeh’s best friends, so we had them over to play in our yard. As we chatted about what I do as a photographer Nikki got excited and asked me if I would come to her home to photographer all her pets!! Of course I said yes right away. 😀

So I headed over to West Fargo and met her crew. It was the best! Any day that I can roll around the grass, get slobbered on, throw tennis balls AND get to photograph new furry friends is the BEST.

Cuteness overload coming in 3.2.1…

We even managed to get one with all 4 dogs!!

And then the cats came out for just a minute.

If you have pets that you want portraits of please shoot me a note, I’d love to meet them and catch their personalities in forever photos!!

Rustic Oaks Moorhead Wedding | Becka & Steve | Kris Kandel Photographer

Its been a few years since I’ve had a wedding out at Rustic Oaks, so I was really excited to get out there again. It’s even more beautiful than the last time! They’ve done such a great job with the barn conversion and gardens. Grab a drink, get out the tissues, this is going to be a LONG and beautiful post.

Becka & Steve // 9.9.17

First look time!

They hydrangeas were the perfect background for Becka’s color theme!

And around the corner where we found just a hint of fall colors.

I loved the braid in her hair, so relaxed and fabulously styled for a windy day, including grandma’s pin for something borrowed!

The wedding party joined us out on the lawns.

Aren’t these colors fabulous?!!

I love this photo of the groomsmen joking around, such a fun candid moment that really gives off the vibe of the day.

I love prairies!! The textures of the grass, the movement from the wind, and the big open skies!

After family photos I was able to spend some time in the barn with all the fabulous details. I loved her leather shoes, so soft and vintage inspired!

I was really excited to hear that Becka & Steve used Gathered Boutique Rentals for their head table, chairs, goblets and other details. My grandmother owned an antique store and collected colored glasses just like this, so when I saw the pretty green goblets I got warm fuzzy feelings. I knew I had to include them in the ring details somehow.

I loved how the couple included a memorial table with details from their grandparents. How sweet is that?!

Ceremony time!

A few more details were added to the barn when the ceremony arch was taken down and added above the table, and the wine brought out, so I grabbed a few more details:

This lovely cake actually ended up on the floor when the table legs accidentally folded when bumped (thankfully not by me!!) and the whole thing landed in a heap. The couple was very kind about it and didn’t seem phased, and thankfully there were enough other treats for the guests. But I’m so glad I got a photo of it before the fall!!

We stepped outside for a few sunset photos, taking a breath and savoring the moment. Finally married!!

I love how my 2nd photographer and I got such different looks at the same time using different techniques. Gah. Both so pretty!!

And back to the barn for the dance!! Starting out with a kiddie dance to get the fidgets out.

First dance time. I’m in love with all the sting lights!

Father daughter and mother son dances. It was really sweet, the groom half way through his dance with mom invited his new mother in law to dance. Then the bride’s new father in law spontaneously started dancing with the bride.  It was all unplanned and very special.  Afterwards I saw the two moms standing together and one said to the other “I’m just SO happy!!”

Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your special day! I’ll be sending you the link to download all your images later this week. Until then feel free to share the blog post!!

A Friends House + Fargo Air Museum Wedding | Libby & Josh | Kris Kandel Photographers

Josh & Libby’s wedding day started out in the barn at A Friends House where they got ready for their day. It was the most perfect October weather, one of the very few weekends this year where it wasn’t raining!!

We found some fall color so of course we did most of our portraits in this area of the grounds.

Isn’t her bouquet stunning?!! I love all the different textures.

One of their little flower girl came out to watch us take photos so of course we had to get some of her with the flowers and the couple!!

Wedding party time!!

Then we headed over to the main house, isn’t it pretty with that vibrant blue sky contrasting with the white?!!

And a few by the chapel where Josh and Libby actually got married. Isn’t it just the most beautiful prairie chapel?!

Ladies in red!

And detail photos, including a few extra rings from Libby’s grandparents as her something borrowed. And her veil which was her mother’s veil!

Ceremony time!

The chapel was so tiny and intimate, holding just their closest family.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs!!!

Then everyone got on a big bus to head over the NDSU for a few quick pics!

The reception was a the Fargo Air Museum, isn’t it just the coolest place for a party?!! I love the bright colors and festive atmosphere.

They even brought in a special bar! NDSU pride runs deep in this family so of course they had to include as much Bison love as possible!

The Air Museum even opened up one of the planes outside for the couple to take a little look inside!

Reception fun:

The kiddie dance to get the jitters out of the kids was hilarious, so much playfulness!

And these two bulldogs even got to make an appearance (remember them from the engagement session?)

Then the first dances:

And finally everyone out on the dance floor!

Thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer! I hope you enjoyed these personal favorite photo teasers, I’ll have your link to download all the images ready soon. Until then feel free to share this link with friends and family!!

Sanctuary Event Center Wedding | Emma & Eddie | Kris Kandel Photographer

I’ve been so excited about Emma & Eddie’s wedding for months! And it exceeded expectations.

We started the day at the Sanctuary Event Center with getting ready and the first look outside (soooo thankful it didn’t rain like the forecast was threatening!).

Since the Sanctuary Event Center is so close to downtown we walked over to the Ivers Building, the Fargo theater and up and down Broadway for fun photos of the couple and their wedding party.

Just a hint of fall colors starting to turn. So perfect for Emma’s wedding color themes!

We even stopped in at Atomic Coffee where Emma & Eddie had their first date – we also found the exact seats they sat in!! How sweet is that? Also Emma was brave to drink coffee with a white dress. 😉

Then we all headed to the park for a few more nature and fall colored backgrounds.

I LOVE the detailing!!

Eddie got some cool details too care of AENDEE hand made ties!

Back to the ivers building for family photos, I love this image of Emma that I snapped while we waited for everyone to be rounded up!!

Soon enough all those seats filled up and it was time for the ceremony to start!!

Emma & Eddie are so loved, they got so many wonderful toasts by special people in their lives. Gosh I love that!

While we were eating the staff converted the ceremony room into the dance floor! I love all the colorful uplighting as the background for their swing dance style first dance!

Emma & Her dad, and Eddie and his grandma were so special on the dance floor!

Then the band came out on stage and the real party got started!!

Thanks so much for asking me to be part of your special day! I loved working with you two! I will have your full wedding gallery ready in just a few days, until then I hope you loved these personal favorite teasers. 🙂 Feel free to share this link with friends and family so they can see the sneak peeks too!
