Fargo Senior Photographers Kris Kandel | Moriah

Last week Moriah’s senior session rained out but our 2nd date was absolutely perfect!! You may feel like you’ve seen her face before, well almost. I photographed Moriah’s sister Ashley last summer! I just love it when I get to know families and reconnect with past clients who come along.:)

Aren’t the colors here gorgeous?!

Love the little bit of wind in the hair. Really dramatic lighting and just plain fun!

Outfit change!

Two of my favorite photos:

Laughter is the best!!

One final outfit and we went to the park for some nature photos. The lighting (and subject) was absolutely gorgeous this evening!!

Thank you so much for asking me to be your senior photographer Moriah!! I had a blast working with you and hope you enjoyed it as well!! I’ll be sending you the link to download all the photos later this week. : )

Fargo Senior Photographer Kris Kandel | Ty

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Ty! We had a great time chatting about his recent trip to Europe, his decisions over what college to go to next year, and Vikings football! I just love how this job lets me get to know people, even if only for a few hours. : )

Some of my favorites:

Ty runs track so we had to have a little fun with that!

I told Ty to pretend he was James Bond in his European Castle. I think he pulled off the look really well:

Then we headed downtown for a few last portraits before the light faded.

Thanks for being awesome Ty! I’ll send you the link to download all your photos soon.:)

Grand Forks & Warsaw ND Wedding | Sarah & Aadam | Kris Kandel Photographer

*First off I want to thank everyone who’s sent me a note/message/card/text this week after my grandmother passed away. And a BIG thank you to all my clients who have been so kind and understanding as I’ve had to reschedule sessions, meetings and push back my editing timelines. Thank you for being patient with me! The funeral is tomorrow (that’s why I’m working on Labor Day) so there will be a few more crazy days ahead.*

Now back to happy blog and beautiful photos.:)

I had the privilege to go to Warsaw ND to photograph a wedding at the beautiful St. Stanislaus cathedral! It was especially lovely because the groom’s great-great uncle helped to build this church! How cool is that?!

When we first arrived there was a huge bonfire across the street!! The bridal party and I were joking that every time the couple smells a bonfire they will now think of their wedding. Thankfully they put it out before the actual ceremony, but it was a unique moment.:)

Sarah & Adam requested NOT to see each other before the ceremony so I kept running back and forth between taking photos of the groom and groomsmen, to going inside and getting some last minute getting ready photos of the bride!

Then the groom and groomsmen hid away as the bride and bridesmaids came out for their photos.

Adam was really nervous to watch his bride walk down the aisle. Deep breaths!!

Not a dry eye in the room as Sarah and her brothers came down the aisle!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs!!!

We drove into Grand Forks to the park for a few more portraits of the bride and groom and the whole wedding party together as we hadn’t done them before the ceremony.

The colors in the park were just gorgeous!!!

Love the golden hour light!!

Then we headed back to the Boardwalk for the reception details while the bridal party dropped off their cars at a hotel and caught the bus back. How pretty are these cupcakes?!

First dance as husband and wife!

Congratulations Sarah & Adam! I hope you enjoyed these teaser photos, my personal favorites from the day. I’ll be emailing the link to download all your photos later this week.:)Until then enjoy the blog and feel free to share the link with friends and family!

Downtown Fargo Summer Engagement Session | Taylor & Sebastian | Kris Kandel Photographer

These two were a blast to work with! Sebastian had us laughing the whole time with his jokes and funny faces as we walked around downtown Fargo.

I’m loving this spot for photos of the Fargo Theater sign, but I have a feeling that tree is going to grow too big next year and cover the sign. So I’ll enjoy the spot while I can. 😀

Reflections on love:

Oh my goodness, you guys are making my job way too much fun!

So perfect! I love how your engagement ring is showing in the photo below. So pretty!

Gotta play with the height differences. 😉

Outfit and location change. By this time everyone was really relaxed and just having a good time. Love all the laughter!!

One of my favorites!!

But you do serious so well too!! Can’t pick a favorite.

Since they met at Concordia College we had to finish off the session showing off their college rings along side the engagement ring. What a fun detail! I’m so glad you guys went to school and found each other.

I hope you enjoyed these personal favorite photo teasers from your engagement session! I’ll be sending you the link to download all your photos in the next few days. Until then feel free to share this post with friends and family!

Downtown Fargo Engagement Photo Shoot | Amanda & Colin | Kris Kandel Photographer

A beautiful summer day in downtown Fargo. Perfect for an engagement session!!

Amanda & Colin were an absolute JOY to work with!

The happiness radiating was gorgeous!

Laughter is my favorite thing!

Since these two are getting married in January they brought a few hats and mittens for some fun photos in our July heat. 😀

Let’s do this “getting married” thing!!!

I’m Soooo lucky in my clients, really how fun are these two?! I can’t wait until January to break out some more winter gear and play in the snow on their wedding day. 😀

Romantic Moon Event Center Wedding | Emily & Tyler | Kris Kandel Photographer

Emily & Tyler’s wedding day started out with a last minute change of plans on our location. It was POURING (as in moonstone I-can’t-see-where-I’m-driving-even-with-full-speed-wipers) rain so the original plan of meeting out at the Romantic Moon Event Center and doing outdoor photos was simply not going to work. So after a phone call to the bride’s parents we met up at the church instead. Not a big deal, the church had plenty of spaces to take fun photos!!

Tyler had written a note on the bottom of Emily’s shoe, and the whole wedding party signed the other one. How sweet is that?!

First look in the sanctuary!

While the parents and grandparents watched with tears and huge grins. No rain was going to spoil this day!

I love the “wink” that my 2nd photographer caught of the ring bearer! How cute is he?!

By this time the rain had stopped so we went outside for a few more portraits!

Emily’s laugh is just so beautiful!

Love the next photo my sister (2nd photographer) grabbed at this time. She’s so good!!

Then back inside for family photos!

After family time I focused on the details. How amazing is Emily’s boquet?! Made out of vintage broaches and all sorts of bling. It was SO heavy, but wow, amazing.

Blue skies just in time for the ceremony!

Someone was getting a bit bored, lol!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs!!!

As they did the receiving line I headed over to the Romantic Moon Event Center to take detail photos of the tables and decorations before the guests arrived.

The shoe game always gets the best laughs out of family and friends!

And toasts too!!

The Romantic Moon Event Center is located right on the Buffalo River (we did Emily & Tyler’s engagement session their last fall) so of course we had to do a few evening portraits since we hadn’t been able to earlier in the day with the rain.

Next to the main building they are working on a landscaping project including this huge bridge. How fun is this for photos?!

Back inside for the dance!!

Just as I was leaving I asked Emily & Tyler to step outside one last time for sunset.  I love how the sun is setting right at the end of the road, such a fairy tale!!

Thank you Emily & Tyler for inviting me to be part of your wedding day! And thank you for being so flexible with the rain and shuffling your timeline and being willing to do more portraits at the end of the day instead of the beginning. It all worked out perfectly!!! I hope you enjoyed these personal favorites, I’ll be sending you the link to download all the photos in the next few days. Until then feel free to send this blog post to friends and family. 😀
