Downtown Fargo Summer Engagement Session | Taylor & Sebastian | Kris Kandel Photographer

These two were a blast to work with! Sebastian had us laughing the whole time with his jokes and funny faces as we walked around downtown Fargo.

I’m loving this spot for photos of the Fargo Theater sign, but I have a feeling that tree is going to grow too big next year and cover the sign. So I’ll enjoy the spot while I can. 😀

Reflections on love:

Oh my goodness, you guys are making my job way too much fun!

So perfect! I love how your engagement ring is showing in the photo below. So pretty!

Gotta play with the height differences. 😉

Outfit and location change. By this time everyone was really relaxed and just having a good time. Love all the laughter!!

One of my favorites!!

But you do serious so well too!! Can’t pick a favorite.

Since they met at Concordia College we had to finish off the session showing off their college rings along side the engagement ring. What a fun detail! I’m so glad you guys went to school and found each other.

I hope you enjoyed these personal favorite photo teasers from your engagement session! I’ll be sending you the link to download all your photos in the next few days. Until then feel free to share this post with friends and family! | Fargo Engagement and Wedding Photographer

Downtown Fargo Engagement Photo Shoot | Amanda & Colin | Kris Kandel Photographer

A beautiful summer day in downtown Fargo. Perfect for an engagement session!!

Amanda & Colin were an absolute JOY to work with!

The happiness radiating was gorgeous!

Laughter is my favorite thing!

Since these two are getting married in January they brought a few hats and mittens for some fun photos in our July heat. 😀

Let’s do this “getting married” thing!!!

I’m Soooo lucky in my clients, really how fun are these two?! I can’t wait until January to break out some more winter gear and play in the snow on their wedding day. 😀 | Fargo Wedding Photographer

Romantic Moon Event Center Wedding | Emily & Tyler | Kris Kandel Photographer

Emily & Tyler’s wedding day started out with a last minute change of plans on our location. It was POURING (as in moonstone I-can’t-see-where-I’m-driving-even-with-full-speed-wipers) rain so the original plan of meeting out at the Romantic Moon Event Center and doing outdoor photos was simply not going to work. So after a phone call to the bride’s parents we met up at the church instead. Not a big deal, the church had plenty of spaces to take fun photos!!

Tyler had written a note on the bottom of Emily’s shoe, and the whole wedding party signed the other one. How sweet is that?!

First look in the sanctuary!

While the parents and grandparents watched with tears and huge grins. No rain was going to spoil this day!

I love the “wink” that my 2nd photographer caught of the ring bearer! How cute is he?!

By this time the rain had stopped so we went outside for a few more portraits!

Emily’s laugh is just so beautiful!

Love the next photo my sister (2nd photographer) grabbed at this time. She’s so good!!

Then back inside for family photos!

After family time I focused on the details. How amazing is Emily’s boquet?! Made out of vintage broaches and all sorts of bling. It was SO heavy, but wow, amazing.

Blue skies just in time for the ceremony!

Someone was getting a bit bored, lol!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs!!!

As they did the receiving line I headed over to the Romantic Moon Event Center to take detail photos of the tables and decorations before the guests arrived.

The shoe game always gets the best laughs out of family and friends!

And toasts too!!

The Romantic Moon Event Center is located right on the Buffalo River (we did Emily & Tyler’s engagement session their last fall) so of course we had to do a few evening portraits since we hadn’t been able to earlier in the day with the rain.

Next to the main building they are working on a landscaping project including this huge bridge. How fun is this for photos?!

Back inside for the dance!!

Just as I was leaving I asked Emily & Tyler to step outside one last time for sunset.  I love how the sun is setting right at the end of the road, such a fairy tale!!

Thank you Emily & Tyler for inviting me to be part of your wedding day! And thank you for being so flexible with the rain and shuffling your timeline and being willing to do more portraits at the end of the day instead of the beginning. It all worked out perfectly!!! I hope you enjoyed these personal favorites, I’ll be sending you the link to download all the photos in the next few days. Until then feel free to send this blog post to friends and family. 😀

Oxbow Country Club Wedding | Stephanie & Cole | Kris Kandel Fargo Photographer

Stephanie & Cole’s wedding day was beautiful! We met up at the Oxbow Country Club to start their big day.

Stepahnie sent Cole an inside joke gift before the first looks, it was definitely a hit!

Stephanie wanted to do a first look with her dad before seeing Cole. How sweet is his reaction?!!

Cole’s turn!! Here we go!

I knew from doing their engagement session last summer that we were going to have a great time with portraits! Just look at how happy they are!!

Lipstick problems, lol!

The next is one of my favorites. Together the future looks amazing, no matter what direction.

I loved how the bridesmaid dresses flowed in the wind. So pretty!

After family photos I did some details. It’s always a fun time of day for me to try to find a way to showcase the bling, flowers, and personalized touches.

The Oxbow Country Club wedding ceremony location is across the pond on the field. So pretty!

You couldn’t pick a more beautiful day to have an outdoor ceremony!

Literally tying the knot!

Congratulations to the newest Mr & Mrs in town!!!

Cole’s dad had this fancy car before he passed away, so it meant a lot to Cole and Stephanie to have a few photos with it!

A short drive back into Fargo where we met up at the Ramada Plaza for the reception!

One of the party games was a trivia game where if a guest got the question right the couple would kiss. The groomsmen huddled (above) but gave the wrong answer. This smart kid (below) phoned the groom’s mom using the “phone a friend” option! He was pretty tickled to get it right!

Cake smash!

More games, more laughs!!

And it wouldn’t be a wedding without a few tears and toasts too.

Let’s get this party going!!

Thank you Stephanie & Cole for inviting me to be part of you wedding day!! I hope you enjoyed these personal favorites, I’ll be sending you the link to download all your photos soon! Until then feel free to share this blog post with friends and family!!

Fargo Avalon West Wedding | Melissa & Nick | Kris Kandel Photographers

Melissa & Nick’s wedding day started at First Lutheran downtown Fargo.

Right before the first look Melissa & Nick traded letters around a door so Nick wouldn’t see her yet. Happy tears are so beautiful on wedding days!

Then she came around the door! Tears turned to huge smiles!!!

The First Lutheran campus has so many beautiful spots for portraits!

The wind added a lovely element of motion for the dramatic big dip!

Love the next photo my sister (second photographer) got shooting through the leaves! How unique!

The wedding party joined us!

Everyone was super excited for Melissa & Nick!

What a good looking group!

Not only good looking but with a lot of goofy spunk too!

After family photos I focused on details. How fun are these colors?!

Pretty soon it was time for an emotional walk down the aisle!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs!!!

After the ceremony we walked downtown for a few more portraits!

The colors downtown Fargo in summer are so warm and joyful! The perfect spot for wedding photos.:)

The next is one of my favorite photos of the day!

Ok, I can’t actually pick favorites. They’re all so beautiful!

The wedding reception was held at the Avalon West venue in Fargo.

– (Remember Trisha & James’s wedding there last year?)-

The Groom’s stepdad plays in a jazz band called Post Traumatic Funk Syndrome which was playing while guests arrived at the reception. It was so much fun having live music!

Loved the choreographed dance for Nick & Melissa’s first dance.

The dance was sooooo much fun! So many sweet moments, silly faces, laughter, and  friends… the dance floor was hopping all night!

Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your special day! I hope you enjoyed these personal favorites! I’ll be sending you the link to download all the photos next week! Until then feel free to share this blog post with friends and family!

Fargo Greenhouse Wedding | Lindsey & Matt | Kris Kandel Photographer

I was REALLY excited about Matt & Lindsey’s wedding last week! I knew after photographing their engagement session in Grand Forks last Fall that we were going to have a lot of fun together. : )

We started the day at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church of Wild Rice, just south of Fargo. The gorgeous old church was the same location that Lindsey’s parents, grandparents AND great grand parents had all gotten married. How cool is that?!!

What a sweet first look.

Lindsey also wanted to do a first look with her dad. Lots of happy tears and laughter!

We started out with a few portraits around the church grounds, but be sure to stick around to the end of this post for more gorgeous portraits after the ceremony. I won’t give away the surprise but it’s worth scrolling down for!

Seriously, can you two get any cuter?!! The joy just radiates.

Lindsey looked gorgeous in this dress by Your Day by Nicole.

Then the wedding party joined us.

Groomsmen looking classically dapper in bow ties and black tuxes.

Champagne colors for the bridesmaids!

You may recognize one of these gals from her wedding two years ago.  I love working with people again – I even got to meet her little girl, what a fun thing to watch families grow!

The perfect amount of wind for dramatic veil photos!

After family photos I focused on the details like the rings and flowers. As I was putting this blog post together my sister happened to see the next three images laid out together and gasped, “It looks like a magazine spread!” : )

On the back side of the brochures were fun polka-dots so I had to get some ring shots with them too!

Since it was a catholic ceremony it was an early afternoon, “Go Time!”

Lindsey walked down the same aisle as three previous generations to the sound of the 100+ year old organ. What a special special moment!

Congratulations to the newest Mr. & Mrs. in town!

We headed over to a park for a few photos. We were a bit nervous about rain but it held off for us and made for gorgeous North Dakota prairie skies!

One of the groomsmen found the couple a 4 leaf clover for good luck!

Gahh I just love all of these!!

Because we were a bit concerned about the rain we had a secret location lined up for a few more portraits! A local greenhouse!!!!

Get ready for an overload of GORGEOUS!!

Is it weird that I kind of love the lady shopping like nothing is happening? LOL!

I can’t pick a favorite, you guys are amazing!

Sooo happy!

Thank you guys for being up for out of the box ideas of mine!

Then as the wedding party went on a party bus I headed over to the Ramada Plaza to get some reception detail photos.

A kiss by the piano, laughter, toasts … it was a good reception!

And an beautiful first dance.

Thank you for inviting me to be part of your special day!! It was a joy! I hope you enjoyed seeing these teasers, some of my personal favorites. I’ll be sending you the link to download all the photos sometime next week. : )
